HRG chooses GlobalViewSM
A single solution for 21 countries… and more!

Originally planned to manage the payroll requirements in three German-speaking countries, ADP’s GlobalViewSM offering has won over Hogg Robinson Group (HRG). The international corporate services company has standardised GlobalView’s use across all continents: “Roll out is fast, salary costs are controlled and our employees are satisfied”, sums up John Kennerley, CFO at Hogg Robinson...

John Kennerley, HRG CFO:
"ADP was an unexpected partner that would support us through not just the initial change but also in the future."

British-headquartered HRG is a leading provider of corporate travel and event management solutions and in 2004 the company once again demonstrated its acquisition-based growth strategy when it completed the purchase of Kuoni Travel Holding’s business travel interests in Austria, Germany and Switzerland (as well as Hungary and Lichtenstein). With a significant number of employees joining HRG’s payroll, John Kennerley began searching for a partner capable of providing an outsourced payroll and administrative service in the newly acquired countries. Impressed with ADP’s capabilities and satisfied with the strength of the GlobalViewSM offering, HRG expanded its initial requirements to a full roll out across its wholly owned operations in 21 countries throughout Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

“A while ago I dreamt of a global Human Resource offering. In GlobalViewSM I have found a solution which is perfectly suited to our needs – and our international offering – and in ADP I have found a like-minded service approach and culture”, said John Kennerley.

Employee Self Service
Like ADP with payroll, HRG’s business is in outsourcing. HRG relieves its clients of complex and time consuming obligations which are foreign to their core business: efficiently managing millions of Euros’ worth of business trips, helping managers to control costs and guaranteeing corporate travellers a top quality service. Through its owned entities and strong contracted partner network, HRG has global coverage, an ambition which ADP holds for GlobalViewSM.

John Kennerley continued: “HRG’s aim is to be the Company of Choice with a list of people waiting to join. We are constantly enhancing employee benefits whilst at the same time assessing opportunities to control costs. ADP was an unexpected partner that was able to support us not only through the initial change but also into the future. Eventually, we will roll out Employee Self Service worldwide, enabling our staff to obtain real-time answers to the questions our payroll department is asked most frequently." Collaborative processes and Manager Self Service will also be integrated into the solution, meaning that local managers can deal with employee requests on matters such as paid leave, salary advances and training quickly and efficiently.

Plug & play
“One of the big advantages to GlobalViewSM is that it is a ‘plug & play’ solution that is easily adaptable to meet the specific requirements of a country or company”, stressed John Kennerley.Within HRG, Germany and Switzerland had the solution up and running just two months following the contract signing in late 2005. Six weeks later it was Austria’s turn and, most importantly, the British head office where almost half the total workforce is based.

At the same time contracts were signed covering each of the company’s other international operations. Australia, China, Hong Kong and Singapore are due to ‘go live’ this month, with other countries, including France and Italy, to follow in the coming months. With the last country due to be operational in March 2007, HRG and ADP, using a partnership approach, will have successfully completed the challenge in less than two years.

“ADP have set up the right organisation and tools. Their client resource planning schedule enabled us to take a phased approach and pace ourselves correctly at each stage of the project. Last but not least, their project organisation – from global level through to local level – sat well with that of our own company”, concluded John Kennerley.
