Industry sectors In Europe, two thirds of employed people work in services, which are steadily growing to the detriment of industry and agriculture. Employment in agriculture is still above 10% in most new member states. Throughout Europe, employment in the public sector varies from 15 to 35%. Market services cover commercial services from trade and transport to financial and business services. Non market services are non profit services, public or private.
