Employees
Employed population breaks down into 87% “employees” – who work for an employer – and 13% self-employed people or family workers. Self-employment is higher in the south and east of Europe, where traditional agriculture and cottage industry remain significant.

Employees are persons who, by agreement, work for a public or private employer and receive compensation as opposed to self-employed people.
