A market screening carried out by ADP Employer Services in summer 2006 gives clear evidence of a trend in the travel and expenses management domain: German companies with more than 300 employees tend more and more to outsource the travel and expenses management to external service providers. Even if for the time being the percentage of travel and expenses processed externally is in the single-digit range, market leader ADP registers a clear tendency towards externalization – 90% of new ADP Travel clients decide in favour of one of the service levels, either Processing Services (hosting of the solution) or Managed Services (Business Process Outsourcing BPO).

ADP leader in service provision for travel and expenses management
With a 23% market share in the last exercise 2006, ADP is the leading provider in Germany for travel and expenses outsourcing services. During this period, ADP processed about one million trips for its BPO customers. The development of this business shows that while in 2004 about 30% of new clients wanted to process the ADP Travel solution internally, the percentage went down to 20% in 2005 and only 10% in 2006. This means that currently, 9 companies out of 10 have decided to outsource the travel and expenses management. A survey having been carried out previously with 4000 German companies revealed that more than 42% of the consulted companies were envisaging BPO for their travel and expenses management. Based on these background facts, ADP expects a growing progression in the BPO percentage in the coming years.
